Welcome To Kamp

Kamp Designs is a resource dedicated to promoting sustainable living, with a mission to realign humans with our core evolutionary design - stewarding healthier communities and ecosystems for future generations. There’s no question that humans are extracting more resources from Earth than can be regenerated, resulting in alarming levels of waste, carbon emissions, and overall climate destabilization. Our systems of consumption were designed to prioritize growth without a built-in mechanism to responsibly manage environmental impact. We’re here to help change that.

Current and projected growth rates of overall consumption from 2005 to 2045. Based on aggregated datasets across energy, food, water, and material consumption, and carbon emissions.

Current and projected global annual per capital emission rates and changes needed to reach symbiosis with the environment’s ability to absorb emissions naturally.

The largest impact areas from individual consumption include energy, transportation, food and agriculture, and material goods.

We are not separate from nature. We are nature, and we are the only species with the intellect and tools to protect and restore the world we depend on. The question is not whether we have the power to change, but whether we have the will.

Among the largest controllable areas where humans have the most impact, carbon dioxide rings loudest. Global annual CO₂ emissions from human activity currently hovers around 37.5 billion metric tons per year (roughly 4.7 metric tons per person on average, with Americans emitting around 15 metric tons per year). Meanwhile, our planet can naturally absorb only about 11 billion metric tons (think forests, oceans, and soil). This means we need a 71% net reduction in overall emissions to achieve climate symbiosis and prevent further degradation.

Humans rely on material goods, food systems, and energy infrastructure to thrive. Data would even suggest that happiness and longevity correlate directly with spending. However, our goal is to find a point of diminishing returns - where essential needs are no longer being met but are instead sacrificed with excess consumption. If your time, contentment, and relationships matter most, align your life and goals with fulfilling your authentic and essential needs. Say no to products that have been expertly designed and marketed to capture your attention, while stealing your vital resources that could be spent on what truly matters.

If you must consume, consume wisely. Support locally owned businesses, social impact brands, and durable goods. Owning fewer but more meaningful things gives you greater control over your life while fostering a deeper sense of community. Our mission is to share tools that support living in harmony with both your evolutionary design and nature’s needs - covering topics like health, wellness, technology, and business.

In closing, let’s acknowledge that no single person is responsible for the unsustainable path we’ve followed. Humans have always innovated to make life easier, often without considering environmental consequences. But now, we know better. It’s time to wake up. Future generations and natural ecosystems depend on us to adopt a more sustainable approach to consuming, living, and working.
